street photography in the basque country
Street photography in the Basque Country has become an ongoing project and a personal favourite of mine. Over many visits, this unique corner of Europe has offered an endless mix of atmosphere, culture, and quiet visual poetry. The photographs you see on this blog are my favourite images gathered over the years, made while returning again and again, whatever the season.
Our trips are shaped as much by experience as by exploration: long lunches with local food and wine, walks under unpredictable Atlantic skies, and days planned loosely around the rhythm of the surf. The weather changes quickly here, and that constant shift of light, wind, and mood is a gift for street photography. It keeps the streets honest and alive.
My work is photographed in and around towns such as Biarritz, Hendaye, Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Bilbao, Bayonne, and many more places discovered along the way. Each visit adds another layer to the story, another small moment worth noticing.
One photograph from this project was featured in FujiLove Magazine, a highlight that encouraged me to keep returning with my camera. I’m looking forward to future visits, more wandering, and many more photographs still to come.

I’m honoured to have my photograph selected for FujiLove Magazine. As a street photographer deeply inspired by the late Saul Leiter, this image was years in the making. Shot during a rain-soaked day in Hendaye, the light, patience, and a single umbrella finally aligned.
